William Farquhar

(Northern District and Archdiocese of St. Andrews and Edinburgh) Born in the Enzie, 16th November 1849, the son of Alexander Farquhar and Margaret Green; ordained a deacon, left for Scotland, 15th July 1872, and ordained a priest by Bp. John MacDonald, 21st November 1872; priest in charge, South Queensferry, 1890- 1932; canon of the chapter of St. Andrews and Edinburgh; died in South Queensferry, 5th July 1935.

Report of the ordination of William Farquhar in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1873.

The Rev. William Farquhar was born in the Enzie, Banffshire, on the 16th November 1849; entered Blairs College, 12th July 1862; and was sent to the Scots College, Valladolid, 20th August 1866. He was there ordained sub-deacon, 23rd December 1871, by H. E. Cardinal Moreno, and deacon, 24th February 1872, by the same prelate. He returned to Scotland in July 1872, passed some time in Blairs College, and was ordained priest by the Right Rev. Dr Macdonald, 21st November 1872. He is stationed at Dufftown.
